Extra Calorie Burning Resistance with Riiflex Dumbbells

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

The clever folks at Riiflex Dumbbells have come up with a practical idea to add a bit of weight training to the Wii cardio workout. This will save you time in doing extra calorie burning exercise to catch up or by tieing fishing sinkers onto your Wii-mote for extra weight.

The Riiflex Dumbbells slide over the Wii-mote and Nunchuk controller to put an extra 2-pounds (1kg) in each hand and provide some extra calorie burning resistance while playing, especially a game of tennis on Wii Sports.

They are made from tough polycarbonate, with cast-iron weights and a soft-touch rubber overmold. It allows complete functionality of the Wii-mote and Nunchuk controllers and is compatible with Wii Motion Plus and many aftermarket Wii-motes.

They are available now at RRP $29.99. Also, there is talk that Riiflex Dumbbells will follow-up with a 4 pound ( 1.8kg ) dumbbells in the near future.

DARPA Awaits Successful Magnetic Body Healers

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

There is a Kings Ransom of money, be it the $6.5 million tucked away in DARPA’s piggy bank “for the creation of a scaffold-free tissue engineering platform, which would allow the construction of large, complex tissues in vitro and in vivo.”

Is it science fiction ? DARPA, doesn’t think so and is ready for the next best thing: “non-contact forces.” Put simply, this alludes to replacing scaffolds with magnetic fields or dielectrophoresis, which could purportedly “control cell placement in a desired pattern for a sufficient period of time to allow the cells to synthesize their own scaffold.”

It will be a guesstimate of how long it will be before we can successfully use this technology to our benefit.

There is a huge difference between the years before physiques’s that looked more natural and athletic compared to today’s that resemble a phenomenon Bodybuilder. He advises that when he talks about the perfect or ideal Bodybuilder workout, there is not a magic formular for everyone.
“A feature of an ideal bodybuilding workout program is to provide an adequate amount of resistance to all the different areas of the body and muscle groups. It also contains a wide variety of exercises, and this includes weight training and cardiovascular training as well,” said DR.Grandville.

Things to consider is the state of your current health situation, physical limitations, knowledge of human anatomy and your main muscles. The charcteristics is the workouts must be short, between 45 to 75 minutes maximum. Between each set the resting time should be a minimum of between 60 and 90 seconds.
Each set should be by 8 to 15 repetitions for muscle mass gains and 15 to 25 repetitions for body sculpting purposes. Also varing and cycling your training. This is the very basic for Bodybuilding workouts.
